Ben McLemore is an American professional basketball player who plays in the National Basketball Association for the Sacramento Kings as a shooting guard. Ben McLemore’s BioHe was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February 11, 1993, to parents, Ben McLemore and Sonya Reid.
The McLemore’s had a total number of six children. Ben had two brothers, Keith and Kevin and three sisters. His full name is Ben Edward McLemore III. He attended Wellston High School in St. Louis, Missouri for three years but then he was forced to changed schools when Wellston got shut down in 2010 just before the start of his senior year.While at Wellston, he played high school basketball and then went on to attend Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia and later the Christian Life Center in Humble, Texas. By the time he was ready to go to college in 2011, McLemore was already a highly rated upcoming talent.
And even though he had committed to playing for the University of Kansas, the NCAA prevented him from playing giving the reason that he had attended multiple high schools. McLemore was later allowed to undergo team activities by the school’s second semester.When his college career did finally get on the way during the 2012-13 season, he went on to raise his profile which had been underestimated by averaging 15.9 points, 2.0 assists and 5.2 rebounds accompanied by 49.5% shooting from the field and 87% shooting from the foul line. He was a finalist for the John R. Wooden Award. By the end of his first season in college basketball, McLemore declared for the 2013 NBA Draft.
McLemore helped the Kings to win the 2014 NBA Summer League averaging 12.6 points. Hs season high for the 2014-15 season was 27 points in a game against Charlotte Hornets in which the Kings won. He averaged 12.1 points, 1.7 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game at the end of his second season, starting in all of the games. When he was injured, he was sent to the NBA G League but he did come back and set a new season-high 21 points in a win over his former team, the Sacramento Kings. On July 17, 2018, McLemore and Deyonta Davis were traded to the Kings by the Grizzlies for Garrett Temple. Aside from being compared to Ray Allen, McLemore broke the freshman scoring record set by Danny Manning. He helped the Kansas Jayhawks win a Big-12 championship in his single season with them.
